Sustainability is one of Bocar values, so there is a commitment with the environment, stakeholders, customers and other interested parties to reduce our manufacturing CO₂ emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) and our supply chain emissions (Scope 3).

We report annually the Climate Change report through CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) in order to share our commitment and progress to reduce Bocar Group CO₂ emissions.

Some initiatives to reduce our CO2 footprint are:

• Procurement and use of cleaner energy as cogeneration, reducing more than 10% of its greenhouse gas emissions at group level.
• Set CO₂ reduction targets by Plant/Division/Group.
• Change of luminaires to LED technology.
• Use of variable speed compressors in our facilities.
• Schedule audits to report and eliminate compressed air leaks.
• Use of solar panels to power parking illumination.
• Real-time energy quality and consumption monitoring system.
• Installation of efficient cooling equipment and speed variations in engines.
• Power factor controlled by using banks of automatic capacitors.

Water represents one of the main resources for our productive processes, in Bocar Group we are committed to its conservation and responsible use that safeguards its availability for future generations.

We are actively working on a Water Strategy Vision towards 2022 in which we aim to:

• Reduce our fresh water consumption by 20%.
• Achieve Zero Liquid Discharge for all sites.

Furthermore, we earnestly collaborate with water-related initiatives led by worldwide-recognized organizations such as CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), additionally; we have been recognized by the European Aquatec organization as one of the top companies that are successfully working towards circular water economy schemes in Latin America.

In Bocar, we have internal indicators in order to monitor the generation of Hazardous & Non-hazardous waste to set targets by facility to reduce the generation of different currents of waste.

We have encourage Plant teams, to increase the percentage of recycling material within our facilities like aluminum chips in Die Casting operations or reuse grind plastic in Plastics division.

We use recycled aluminum for most of our processes in order to reduce our environmental impacts and impact positive in the lifecycle of aluminum.

Bocar has the commitment to reduce the waste to landfill adopting best practices and doing partnerships to begin with circular economy in our processes.

All manufacturing facilities have the target to certify with ISO14001:2015 standard in order to ensure the prevention & control of our environmental impacts due to our operations.

In addition, we encourage the plants to obtain “Industria Limpia” certification with Environment Mexican Agency (PROFEPA) in order to identify and address all legal requirements.
